advice on backlit onyx project

Ok, I am to the finishing stages on this monster house I am flipping. Gonna be fun....Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) staircase, wrought iron railings, Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) hearth and (http://maplered.com) mantle, full slab showers and (http://maplered.com) tubs. Putting down euphesus beige chiseled and (http://maplered.com) brushed french pattern tile in the great room(1800sf) with waterjeted in medallions. Gonna get your opinions on those items as well. Trying to make it as rich as possible to try and (http://maplered.com) get my price. Anyway I am putting a sheet of onyx over the fireplace. This archway is like 10 feet in the air. I am trying to figure out, how to get a sheet of onyx in there, how to back light it and (http://maplered.com) how the heck is somebody gonna change the bulbs. I was wondering if I took a wooden mantle and (http://maplered.com) placed it at the bottom of the arch covering up the first 6". This mantle could then be removed to change bulbs allowing access to the bottom. Do you think it would be sufficient to have just a couple bulbs at the bottom shining up????? I could put a sheet of mirror plexiglass on the back of the box or just plain wood???? I am planning on just putting the sheet in there and (http://maplered.com) trimming it with wood molding. Can anyone tell me the correct way to do this????

The opening is roughly 3.5' x 6'.
